 Building Bridges: Why did you choose the name of your business? Is there a special meaning behind it?

Camille Washington: Cabas means a basket or hand bag. I fell in love with the word Cabas from the moment I laid eyes on it. The word fits right in with what I do in the business of crafting. Before I had an office or even a desk to work all I had to make creations from was a workbasket.

Building Bridges: Why did you decide to open a shop and sell online?

Camille Washington: Being a Military wife and Mother of two it was hard for me to have a 9 to 5 job that I liked. So working from my home office and selling online gives me the ability to stay at home with my family.

Building Bridges: Did someone encourage you to start a business?

Camille Washington: I started out making creations for my kids. I love dressing up my kids. When would go out shopping some people would walk up and say "Hey, where did you get that?" I would tell them I made it and they would gasp, "I would buy that!" or "You should start selling kid's accessories!". I heard it so many times, I decided why not give it a try - what do I have to lose!

Building Bridges: Do you remember your first product that sold, what was it?

Camille Washington: I could never forget my first product that sold because I could never forget my first customer. It was my lovely Mother! She bought a Cross Charm Bracelet from me.

Building Bridges: Do you have any shop promo discounts? If so when do they end?

Building Bridges: What is your favorite part about owning your own business?

Camille Washington: I would definitely say having control over my time schedule. I love spending as much time as I can with my family!

Building Bridges: What is your favorite item to make and why?

Camille Washington:   My favorite item is the Flowered Crochet Knit Headband. They are incredibly fun to make. I can mix and match so many flowers and jewels to go with pretty much any outfit of choice.

Camille Washington:   My most popular item right now is the Flowered Crochet Knit Headband. They come in various colors and they are so adorable on the Cabas Cuties!
