Henna Inspired Jewelry

Some of the best surprises come when you’re not expecting it! This surprise came about two months ago when Julia, the owner of Eternal Girl (on Etsy.com) contacted me out of the blue! Nothing is better than finding amazing shop owners & them in turn finding you! Connecting with crafty people is like opening a box full of confetti on a rainy day (for those of us who adore rainy days!) Without further ado let’s jump into one fabulous product review, to be followed by a few questions and answers!

THE REVIEW

Email comes…product review?? Of course! Head on over to Julia’s shop and think to myself, why have I never heard of this shop before?? Julia was kind enough to send me one of her “Free Heart Necklaces” (get yours here)!

Honesty is always the best policy right? Well I must say, when looking at Julia’s adorable shop, I thought that it was cute and fun costume jewelry. Oh my, was I ever so wrong. When I received my BEYOND GORGEOUS bronze/antique looking pendant, with her hand drawn artwork (it has a glass covering to seal the art inside…I honestly couldn’t believe it! I seriously took a photo and sent it to several of my friends and family members!

There are no amount of photos that can ever begin to capture the sweet simplicity of this little piece! I especially loved how the chain lengths can be in either 18” or 24”. Who doesn’t love options, especially when it comes to jewelry! I preferred to do a review on her black and white drawing(s) & could not be happier - please see photos below to get a taste of her colored pieces!

So…why do I have two necklaces in my product review lineup? Julia is so incredibly amazing that she sent me a coupon code! So with this code I decided to purchase this lovely owl necklace for my bestie (who tried to get me to get the owl necklace for her in the first place! Hehe). As for the owl necklace (check it our here), this beautiful piece is pure perfection. If you have an owl lover in your life or you yourself are one – GET THIS! My bestie will be completely over the moon with this little surprise!

Julia your artwork is beautiful and we hope you keep showing drawing and sharing with the world for a long, long time!

QUESTION & ANSWER TIME

Building Bridges: Tell us a little bit about you, your family, and what you like to do for fun!
I come from a large, busy family, and absolutely love to make time for myself. Growing up I loved to draw, and a few years ago, I incorporated it into jewelry making. Aside from that, I love to cook, practice yoga, and swim.

Building Bridges: Why did you choose the name of your business? Is there a special meaning behind it?

"Eternal girl" is the female version of a term used in mythology to describe a child-like being craving boundless freedom. I associate my artwork with the undying need to reach out and extend my limitations through love and life.

Building Bridges: Did someone encourage you to start a business & when did your shop officially open?

My family and friends encouraged me to start my shop & it officially opened on August 21st, 2012.

Building Bridges: Do you remember your first product that sold, what was it?

It was one of my earlier foxtail orchid designs. It was so exciting!
Building Bridges: Do you have any shop promo discounts, if so when do they end?

This one is ongoing: 20BLOG coupon code for 20% off your order

Building Bridges: Do you take custom orders?

Yep, and I love making them! Don't be shy to ask for a custom order, I absolutely LOVE making personal, one-of-a-kind necklaces!

Building Bridges: Why make handmade products?

Why not??? They're more personal!!!
